Privacy policy
This policy explains what information the NH Psychiatry website collects, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Who operates this website
NH Psychiatry is a division of Granite State Behavioral Health PLLC, located at 119 Main St, Alton, NH 03809. This privacy policy applies to the website nhpsychiatry.org (the “website”).
This policy is not the Notice of Privacy Practices
Health information created or received in the course of care — such as medical records, appointment details, and communications with the practice — is protected health information governed by HIPAA and applicable state law. The practice’s Notice of Privacy Practices, provided during intake, describes how that information is used and protected. This website policy covers only information collected through nhpsychiatry.org itself.
Information collected on this website
The website is intentionally designed to collect as little information as possible.
- No forms. The website does not include a contact form, message box, or file-upload field. You cannot submit personal or health information through the website itself.
- Server logs. Like nearly all websites, the hosting infrastructure automatically records standard technical logs — such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and access times. These logs are used for security monitoring and site operations.
- Cookies. The website does not currently set its own cookies for ordinary visitors. Analytics tools or third-party services used by or linked from the website may collect information or set cookies of their own, as described below.
Third-party services
Certain features of the website are provided by third parties, which may collect information under their own privacy policies:
- Appointment requests. Requesting an appointment takes you to a booking portal operated by IntakeQ, a practice-management platform designed for healthcare providers. Information you enter there is transmitted to the practice through that platform. IntakeQ’s own privacy policy describes how it handles that information, and the practice treats the information it receives in accordance with its privacy obligations, including HIPAA.
- Google Fonts. The website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google’s servers, which involves transmitting your IP address to Google.
- Google Maps. The contact page includes an embedded Google Map showing the office location. When the map is displayed, Google may collect usage data and set cookies in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
Analytics
The website may use standard analytics tools to understand visitor traffic — for example, which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the website. NH Psychiatry reviews analytics data in aggregate to improve the website. The website does not use advertising trackers, does not build marketing profiles of individual visitors, and does not sell or rent visitor information. The website does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no common standard for interpreting them has been adopted.
How information is used
Information described in this policy is used to operate, secure, and improve the website; to respond to appointment requests and communications you initiate; and to comply with legal obligations. NH Psychiatry does not sell personal information and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Service providers that host and maintain the website process server logs on the practice’s behalf. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to investigate misuse of the website.
Your choices
- Cookies. Browser settings let you block or delete cookies, which affects the embedded Google Map and any analytics cookies.
- Booking. You can request an appointment by calling the office at 603-515-1700 instead of using the online booking portal.
- Analytics. Most browsers offer settings or extensions that limit analytics collection.
Email and electronic communications
Standard email and unsecured electronic messages are not appropriate channels for personal health information. Please do not send clinical questions, medication requests, or other sensitive information through unsecured email. New patients should use the online booking portal; established patients should use the approved patient communication system described on the contact page.
Children’s privacy
The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. NH Psychiatry does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. Questions about care for adolescents should be directed to the office by phone.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect the website. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure — which is one reason the website does not ask you to submit personal or health information directly.
Links to other websites
The website contains links to third-party websites and resources, including crisis and support services. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies, and NH Psychiatry is not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is posted on this page with its “last updated” date.
